Golden House Adult Development Center

Located in Alameda, next to Washington park, the facility offers easy access to near by restaurants, shops, parks, beaches, and AC Transit Bus Lines. Consumers may enjoy walking excursions to these community resources.

The 730 Central Avenue Facility offers the best location for continuing adult education in communication, basic education, computer use, arts and crafts, and musical performance, gardening, cooking, cleaning, and other individual interest activities.


With a ratio of 1:3, participants work in small groups to learn travel safety,money management, sign reading, and a variety of other activities to increase social and recreational skills such as bowling, museum exploration, nature awareness, restaurant, and library experiences.

        Golden House A.D.C. believes that individuals with developmental disabilities will reach their highest potential of independence and self esteem when they are give the freedom to learn new skills and attitudes of their own choice and liking.

        Golden House A.D.C. believes that positive behavior is enhanced by individuals learning to control their environments through communication in some form.
